Rules and Regulations
Checking In
All members upon entering the premises are required to present their membership card or scan their thumb print. Upon authorization by the representative, the member shall be allowed to enter the premises. All children under the age of 8 years old must be under direct parental supervision unless involved in an organized Beaverton Hoop YMCA activity. Members may from time to time be asked to furnish additional identification. If a member’s dues, fees or charges are not paid current, such member may be denied access to the premises until member’s account is current.
Guests
All guests & visitors shall be subject to these Rules & Regulations and must check in with a representative of the Beaverton Hoop YMCA upon entering the premises. All guests must be prepared to furnish valid identification and proof of age. Guests under the age of 18 must have a parent signature to use the facility. The Beaverton Hoop YMCA may refuse access or use of its premises to any guest unwilling or unable to furnish valid identification as proof of age. See paragraph 7 below regarding Children Policies. A member must accompany all guests.
Clothing Attire
Members shall be adequately dressed in a manner that is conducive to basketball, volleyball, aerobic or weight training activities and that is not objectionable to other members and guests. Proper court shoes, clean gym shorts or pants, and a clean tank top T-shirt, or sweat-top shall be worn during participation in basketball, volleyball, aerobic or weight training activities. Shirts shall be worn at all times on the premises except in the locker rooms. No hats or bandannas shall be worn during participation in basketball activities.
Basketball and Volleyballs
The Beaverton Hoop YMCA will provide all basketballs & volleyballs for use. No outside basketballs or volleyballs are allowed on the Beaverton Hoop YMCA's premises unless previously approved by the Beaverton Hoop’s Management.
Personal Property
The Beaverton Hoop shall not be liable or responsible for the loss, theft or damage of personal proprtty belonging to members or guests. The use of locks and locker rooms shall not in any way subject the Beaverton Hoop to liability for the loss, theft or damage to the property placed therein. Members and guests shall provide their own locks for lockers and the portection of personal property shall be the sole responsibility of the members or guests.
The Beaverton Hoop shall not be liable or responsible for locks left on unregistered lockers at the end of the business day. Any lockers not registered as rental lockers that remain locked at the end of the business day will be opened and / or the locks will be cut-off.
Unclaimed property will be held for 48 hours and then donated or discarded.
Drugs, Alcohol and Firearms
Drugs, alcohol and firearms are prohibited on the premises. Any member or guest possessing, carrying, supplying, bringing, using or promoting drugs, alcohol or firearms on the premises or any member or guest believed to be carrying firearms or under the influence of drugs or alcohol while on the premises shall automatically lose all membership rights and visitation privileges and shall be removed immediately from the premises, and in this event, no part of the member’s or guest’s payments shall be refunded an any portion of dues, fees or charges remaining unpaid shall become immediately due and payable.
Children Policy
Infants are permitted in the Fitness Center Cardio area provided the child remains in a carrier at all times and is under the watchful eye of an adult or legal guardian. For the child’s safety, the Hammer Strength and Free Weight areas are prohibited. Children under 8 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times. Children between the ages of 8 – 12 are permitted to utilize the basketball court area without parental supervision. Children under 13 years of age are not permitted in the Fitness Center, unless they are participating in a supervised Beaverton Hoop YMCA fitness program. To have unsupervised access to the Fitness Center, children 13 – 15 years of age must complete the Self-Manager Program. Please contact the Fitness Director to satisfy this requirement.
Children 16 years of age and older may access all areas of the club without parental supervision.
If a child becomes unruly or misbehaves, Beaverton Hoop YMCA will call the child’s parents and have them removed. Children are permitted to remain at Beaverton Hoop YMCA up to a maximum of 4 hours per day to complete their activities. Supervised childcare facilities may be provided at such time as the Beaverton Hoop YMCA, in its discretion, deems necessary. If supervised childcare is provided, an additional fee may be charged for use of such service.
Unauthorized Non-Recreational Use
Members and or guests shall not use the premises, other than for recreational purposes, without written authorization from the Beaverton Hoop YMCA. If a member or guest performs any service or provides advice for compensation while using the Beaverton Hoop Y’s premises without written authorization from Beaverton Hoop YMCA, such member or guest shall lose all membership rights and visitation privileges and shall be removed immediately from the premises, and in this event, no part of the member’s or guest’s payments shall be refund and any portion of dues, fees or charges remaining unpaid shall become immediately due and payable.
Termination of Membership
The Beaverton Hoop YMCA may terminate a membership whenever it determines, in its sole discretion, that a member interferes with another members’ or guests’ use or enjoyment of the Beaverton Hoop Y’s facilities or interferes with the Beaverton Hoop Y’s ability to provide services to its members and guests, including, without limitation: (1) physical or oral abuse, harassment, threats, intimidation, or defamation of another member, guest or employee; (2) negligent or intentional destruction of, or larceny, theft or taking without permission of, any property belonging to the Beaverton Hoop YMCA, its employees or other members or guests.
Theft
Anyone caught stealing from the Beaverton Hoop YMCA, including members and their guests, will be suspended immediately. Criminal charges may be filed.
