Canaan Chatman Joins the YMCA
Please welcome Canaan Chatman, who has just joined us in the position of Program Executive Director of the Beaverton Hoop YMCA. Beginning in August of 2009, Canaan is responsible for programming and events at the Beaverton Hoop YMCA. 

Canaan has a long, rich history that he brings to the YMCA with a tremendous background, serving kids in the NE Portland for more than 13 years. Canaan grew up in Portland. He played high school basketball at Benson, later went onto play at Oregon State and the University of Portland. Canaan played professionally abroad, including Japan, Poland, Dubai, Switzerland, Turkey, Isreal and Australia. On all of the teams that Canaan played on he also served in the capacity of team captain.

Canaan has extensive volunteer experience and has contributed in that capacity at adidas, Nike and SEI.

We are truly pleased to have Canaan as a member of our team and look forward to his positive leadership to help shape the lives of boys and girls who participate in YMCA programs at the Beaverton Hoop YMCA. Welcome Canaan!
